Luxury Set in Stone: Capturing the Essence of Malhadinha Nova Stone House
I recently had the opportunity to photograph the stunning Malhadinha Nova Stone House in the Beja region of Portugal. This unique property, located within the estate, consists of four 100m2 suites with individual terraces and private pools, offering a high level of privacy and intimacy for guests.
In order to showcase the character of the house and communicate the feeling from within to the viewer, we approached the photoshoot from a technical perspective. We carefully composed each shot to highlight the beautiful architecture and design of the space, using lighting and framing techniques to create a sense of warmth and intimacy.
The interior of the Stone House is characterized by a contemporary design approach, with a minimalist and individual character created by the combination of mortar and wood. The golden floor extends the color of the soil, and the space is surrounded by the aroma of wine and with a view of Ribeira de Terges.
We paid particular attention to the furniture and amenities of the Stone House, which include a variety of iconic and timeless pieces such as Flos lamps, Carl Hansen & Søn chairs, and an Alvar Aalto coat rack for Artek. These pieces, which are part of the design museum heritage of these houses, add to the overall sophistication of the space. Additionally, we captured images of the sideboards made in Portugal by Much Wood, the Agape bathtub, linen tunics by Harmony Textile, Bvlgari toiletries, the iPad, the Harman Kardon sound system, the television, and the underfloor heating, all of which contribute to the luxurious feel of the Stone House.
Overall, our photoshoot of the Malhadinha Nova Stone House was a success, and we are proud to have been able to showcase this beautiful and unique architectural project in such a way that accurately communicates the character and feeling of the space to the viewer.
